Who we are
Meem is an initiative of MeemLift Foundation, Inc. (“MeemLift”, “we”). This notice explains what information Meem collects, who can see it and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and home address (street, city, state and ZIP). Your street address is stored encrypted.
- A confirmation that you are 18 or older.
- Your monthly gift: the amount, dates, status and receipts.
- Who invited you and which families joined through your code.
- Your sign-in: we email you a one-time code each time you sign in, so we store no password for you. We also record the email and network address of sign-in attempts, to stop people guessing codes.
What we never collect
You pay on a secure page run by Zeffy. MeemLift never sees your card or bank details.
Who can see your information
- Other families never see your name or your gift. They see only how many families are in their circle, and totals stay hidden until at least three donors stand behind them.
- MeemLift staff with an authorized role can see each donor’s giving and place in the circle, for administration and compliance. Access is limited by role and every view of donor data is logged.
- Zeffy, the company that takes your payment, handles your payment details under its own privacy notice.
- We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies
Meem uses one cookie to keep you signed in, and remembers an invite code in your browser until you join. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep financial and receipt records for as long as the law requires. [To be confirmed by counsel: the retention period for each kind of record.]
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing info@meemlift.org. We will keep the records the law requires us to keep.
Children
Meem is for adults aged 18 or older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
